Book: Effective Succession Planning by William J. Rothwell

Recommended by: Gareth Scargill

“This book is invaluable for business leaders serious about the most valuable resource they possess – their people.

I’ve found it particularly useful when assessing work requirements, and its helped me to develop structures that enable business growth.”

Book: The Chimp Paradox by Professor Steve Peters

Recommended by: Lorraine Devaney

“I found this one super helpful in my personal development. The brain can be devious, and it helped me to not overthink things.”

Book: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Recommended by: Barry Singleton

“This book was first published in 1936 but it’s still the bible for creating meaningful relationships almost 100 years later.”

Book: Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez

Recommended by: Dennis Dokter

“We live in a world which is built for and by men and this book illustrates this in an eye-opening way.”

Naat Ka Hui

Book: Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracey

Recommended by: Naat Ka Hui

“This one is really about time-management. It helps you to understand what’s most important in your daily work and zoom in on that. I always try to eat the ugliest frog at the start of every day!”

Martin Stow, Nexus Director sat on a sofa, casually leaning and smiling to camera

Book: Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0 by Jim Collins

Recommended by: Martin Stow

“The thing I love about this book is that it summarises Jim Collins’ work really well. It’s got everything you need to know about creating a good strategy and how you can capitalise on it.”

And finally… it doesn’t always have to be a book.

TV show: The Bear on Disney+

Recommended by: Alan Gallacher

“‘The Bear’ on Disney has some unexpected but insightful lessons on leadership and teamwork. So much so that Forbes did an article on it. I found the French brigade analogy to be really impactful.”
