The CEO of Nexus-based PinPoint Data Science, Giles Tully, has been recognised with two top awards at this year’s Digital Leaders AI 100 UK Awards 2025.

Tully secured first place in the Private Sector category and was also named overall winner of the AI 100 UK List 2025, celebrating his leadership in responsible and life‑changing applications of artificial intelligence.

PinPoint Data Science applies advanced machine learning to revolutionise cancer diagnostics. The company’s flagship innovation, the PinPoint Test, is a UKCA‑marked AI‑enabled blood test that integrates seamlessly with existing healthcare systems. By analysing 31 blood biomarkers alongside patient demographics, the test assigns a single, clear indicator of cancer risk – helping clinicians rapidly triage patients and prioritise those who need urgent care.

This approach represents an intelligent upgrade to traditional pathology, using AI to unlock patterns in the blood so complex they are simply beyond current technology to deliver. Developed with rigorous regulatory oversight, the algorithm behind the PinPoint Test is refined through evidence‑based updates informed by expanding real‑world data, ensuring accuracy and accountability at every stage.

Hosted annually, the AI 100 UK Awards spotlight 100 individuals and organisations driving ethical, impactful, and innovative AI across the country. From a shortlist of more than 400 innovators, business figures, policymakers and non‑profit leaders, Tully’s selection highlights the national significance of PinPoint’s mission to make cancer diagnostics faster, smarter and more accessible.

“It was a thrill just to be invited and meet so many inspiring people in AI – I never expected to win,” said Tully. “To take home two awards is a huge honour. AI is often misunderstood, but there are almost endless applications where it can improve ordinary lives safely and sustainably. I hope the Digital Leaders AI 100 List helps raise the profile of the amazing work being done here in the UK.”

Since joining PinPoint in 2017, Tully has transformed what began as a small group of scientists with a bold idea into a dynamic, internationally recognised health‑tech company. Under his leadership, the organisation has secured NHS sponsorship, attracted strategic investment, and demonstrated how AI can deliver tangible improvements for patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems alike.
