Events at Nexus: What’s On at Leeds Digital Festival
Our programme for this year’s Leeds Digital Festival is arguably our strongest yet, with four events at Nexus where every innovator can champion and celebrate the city’s vibrant digital and tech culture.
MedTech Showcase
We’ve joined forces with The Data Shed, the University of Leeds and Leeds Digital Festival to bring together the ‘great and the good’ of the region’s MedTech ecosystem. Join us to celebrate the important work being done across medical technologies, and to explore challenges and opportunities facing the region. The event brings together founders, start-ups, clinicians, policy makers and other key stakeholders within the MedTech & Leeds Tech ecosystem.

Nexus Connect
For the third event in our networking series, we’re bringing MedTech and digital health leaders and innovators together. Our members Wellola, Toxseek, See AI and Inovus Medical will be sharing opportunities for collaboration across the Nexus Community, the University of Leeds and the wider innovation ecosystem. Medipex, Bionow, the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Innovation Pop Up will be exhibiting their latest innovation services and opportunities. SingFit will also be flying over from L.A. to share neurological, physical and emotional health benefits of music as medicine.
This event provides a fantastic opportunity for all members of the Nexus community and innovators across the wider innovation ecosystem to network and collaborate.

Hack For Good
This Hackathon calls for thinkers and doers of all backgrounds and skill levels to participate in co-designing ethical and innovative solutions using data and technology to positively impact the independence and quality of life of the elderly people in Leeds. This session is perfect for academics, data analysts, developers, people accessing services, carers or if you work in the health and care sector. Everyone is welcome.
This session is powered by AWS with support from Leeds City Council, Ingenuity, Nexus, dxw, Urban Foresight and the ICO’s Innovation Hub.

Digital Twins: Aspiring To Create a More Sustainable World
In this half day event hosted by the Digital Twin Consortium and Slingshot Simulations, you will hear from pioneers in digital twin technology and methodology encompassing the three pillars of sustainability: Social, Economic, and Environmental. The experts will look at ground-breaking digital twin applications, discuss today’s responsible computing opportunities and explore the challenges and opportunities that can help shape a more sustainable future for all.
