Health tech specialists with solution for safely sharing health data establish UK base in Leeds
Health tech specialists behind an innovative solution for safely sharing health data for vital research, have established their UK base in Leeds as the company prepares for international expansion.
Ledidi, first established in Norway, joins the innovation community at Nexus as it scales up its patient privacy-protecting software business, which is enabling collaborative work on health data across institutions and borders.
Dr Einar Martin Aandahl, co-founder and CEO of Ledidi, comments: “We provide a software solution where researchers can collaborate end-to-end within a safe and privacy-enhancing digital environment. We hope to enable more effective use of health data and inspire clinicians and researchers to engage in research collaborations. We want to improve and shorten the process going from scattered health data to the insights and knowledge that will help improve understanding of how to best treat and care for patients.”

Dr Aandahl said it was an obvious choice for the company to join the innovation community at Nexus, Leeds as the UK base for its planned international growth. He comments:
“The Leeds region has a thriving digital and academic ecosystem, with more than 50 000 people employed in digital tech. The city is home to more than 250 tech scale-ups and has the largest concentration of higher education institutions outside of London. We are particularly impressed by Leeds’ strong healthcare and innovation ecosystem.”
Dr Martin Stow, Nexus Director and Chair, comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Ledidi to the Nexus community, which further strengthens our reputation as a centre of excellence for innovation in the healthcare sector. The access we provide to extensive collaborative research opportunities, both with the University and our wider health sector and innovation networks, will I hope be invaluable to the team as they introduce their groundbreaking data sharing technology on the global stage.
