Tell us about yourself?

My name is Martin; I am the lead software engineer at DRS Software. My background is in chemical engineering, and I wrote a master’s thesis on applying machine learning to chemical processes. But alongside that, I’ve written software for 15 years, the first few years for fun. The last 12 years or so have been professional.

What does DRS Software do?

DRS Software is a specialist software consulting company. We focus on using advanced web technologies to solve the most complex problems in application development and software modernization. We’re experts in Web Assembly, a game-changing technology that supercharges web application development. So, we’ve used this technology to significantly accelerate software modernization efforts and develop high-performance web applications in which Web Assembly delivers the speed required for demanding workloads.

How are you looking to develop your business?

Over the next year, we will continue to look for businesses and help them realise the value of web assembly and integrate it into their applications. We’re specifically looking to increase our footprint in the UK. We’ve had a lot of global clientele, but not very many, specifically within the UK.

Who in our community are you looking to collaborate with?

We are looking to collaborate with organisations that are either considering or have started software modernization efforts. We’re particularly keen to see how Assembly might be able to help them along that journey. We are also interested in working with organisations that build advanced web applications and explore advanced web technologies. We’re always keen to share notes with others, pushing the browser’s limits and what it can do.
