Itecho Health’s story
Dr Adrian Brown founded Itecho Health after working in public health for over a decade.
Through his work, he identified that there was a gap in the market for a platform to digitally monitor patients with long term health conditions. In 2018, Adrian joined forces with digital tech expert, Lalit Suryawanshi, and together they founded Itecho Health.
Itecho Health joined the Nexus community in 2019. Since then, the business has grown rapidly with the support of the Nexus team, who have helped with access to funding streams, grant applications and mock interviews. With Nexus’ support, the company successfully secured £2.2 million of funding from the National Institute of Health Research.
The Nexus team have helped Itecho make connections in the vibrant local health ecosystem, joining them with partners including:
- The Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network
- Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Leeds City Council
- West Yorkshire Combined Authority
- Leeds City Region LEP
Through these connections and opportunities, Itecho has elevated its profile and gained access to quality advice, allowing the business to continue evolving. They were also able to attend industry events, such as Arab Health in Dubai.
Nexus has also enabled Itecho to access diverse talent from the University of Leeds. Throughout their time at Nexus, Itecho health has worked closely with Nexus’ skills and talent team to secure 5 student interns, many of which have now taken up full time positions at the company.
Being part of the Nexus community has played a significant part in Itecho Health’s ongoing expansion, opening doors for the company across the local, national, and international healthcare landscape.
