Dr Martin Stow to head up business engagement and enterprise at the University of Leeds

Dr Martin Stow has been appointed to the new position of Pro Vice-Chancellor for Business Engagement and Enterprise at the University of Leeds.

Demonstrating the University’s commitment to having business engagement and enterprise as a fundamental strategic priority, the new role underpins the University’s vision to positively shape our world, reduce inequalities and deliver positive impact.

The role, which will see Martin working across faculties schools, professional services and with stakeholders within the city and region to co-create a university-wide strategy for engaging with businesses and entrepreneurs, incorporates the University’s innovation hub and community Nexus, where Martin has been Director since its launch five years ago.

Martin has over 25 years’ experience working in senior worldwide research and development and strategic leadership roles within the healthcare and life science industries, both in start-ups and corporates.

Gareth Scargill will take on the role of Interim Director of Nexus when Martin moves to his new role in July. Gareth was appointed Deputy Director at Nexus earlier this year to support the next stage of its expansion as the community continues to grow at pace on an international scale
